Age Prowls like a Leopard

In the ancient Hindu scriptures there is a verse that goes “The physical body does not last forever. Age prowls like a leopard. Before the limbs lose their vitality, one should take to the auspicious path to the Self.” This photo is a good reminder that age indeed does prowl like a leopard. And if life is consumed in idle pursuits then we’ll be old before we know it. It is good to be mindful of what we are doing each day.
Day two of our month long series of photos on Rajasthan, India. This photo was taken in a home out in the desert just outside the village of Khejarla which straddles the Marwar plains between Jaipur and Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It’s tradition in Hinduism that men have their ears pierced and in Rajasthan this tradition is followed closely.
