From Khejarla we headed further east to the holy town of Pushkar. Normally quiet and serene, it is now bustling with thousands of pilgrims, traders and livestock for the annual Pushkar Camel Fair. We stayed at some tents about 2 kms away from the main fair grounds and traveled back and forth on camel carts.

The atmosphere at the fair is one to behold. So much going on at any point in the day. Traders here from all over the state and neighboring states as well to sell and buy camels, horses and cattle. We arrived later afternoon, checked into our tents and made our way down to the fair. Wisps of smoke rising all over the place as traders lit fires to cook dinner and stay warm as desert temperature drops rapidly. Quite surreal!
