2012 in Review – some inspiring moments

Looking back at 2012 I feel very grateful for the many amazing people that I have met and the countless experiences that I have learnt from and continue to learn from.
Here are a few photos that captured some inspiring moments in 2012. Many such moments went unphotographed….
During an exercise at a workshop that I conducted recently in Australia, a dad takes a few minutes to express his appreciation to his 10-year-old daughter and how she has made a difference in his life. She takes a few minutes as well to do the same. It was one of the sweetest things I saw in 2012.
A couple takes a few minutes to express love and gratitude to one another at a workshop that I conducted in Australia. Quite often we get busy with life that we forget to express our feelings to the ones that matter the most.
In Byron Bay, Australia, I led a group of about 45 entrepreneurs in yoga asana and meditation on the beach. Each of them were simply dressed in white. As were doing our morning practices on the beach a solar eclipse was taking place high above us. We spent the rest of the day together in a workshop that explored our minds and learning spiritual tools to create a sustainable change in our lives.

The unbridled smile of this girl is a constant reminder that life is meant to be lived joyously. I took this photograph in a little town called Pipar about 2 hours west of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India.
In September I presented to over 700 entrepreneurs from around the world in Istanbul, Turkey. They were members of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. It was uplifting to be in a room filled with inspired people, some of whom found my talk to be absolutely useless and others who shared with me that it changed their life.
Posing with two dear friends of mine, both brothers, who are priests at the sacred Chidambaram temple in South India. I consider it a true blessing to come and worship at this temple that is thousands of years old. A life changing experience in every way.
Waking up early (3:15am) and driving out to Borobudur to watch the sunrise from this spectacular edifice in Central Java, Indonesia, was definitely a special moment this year.
On one of the spiritual adventures that I conducted this year, I took a group to attend the Thaipusam festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of the journey. We joined 1.5 million Hindus, making our way up the 272 steps into the lime stone caves above to worship the Hindu Deity of spiritual progress, Muruga.
Many of you know my passion for photography. This year 3 magazines (Los Angeles, Hong Kong and India) published my photos. One image made the cover of the November 2012 Spice Route magazine featuring a photo I took from the Diwali celebrations at Amritsar. SpiceRoute is the in-flight entertainment magazine for one of India’s largest domestic carriers, SpiceJet.
What changed my life forever!
