Candy of the Earth in South India
September 18, 2013 • Photography & Travel, Spiritual Adventures
Color, texture, vibrancy. Elements of vision that enrich experiences and make the world around you pop into life. One of the highlights of traveling through Southern India, especially the lush coastal regions, is the trips to local fruit and vegetable markets. You can get lost in the rows of the freshest and juiciest mangos you’ve ever come across. The local purveyors of produce take great care in the design and layout of their stalls and their goods, making the aesthetics as pleasing as the taste. It’s as if someone turned up the sensation dial as you walk from stand to stand taking in the scene and sampling some of the tastiest seasonal fruits and vegetables. We’ll make sure to load up for our trip further south, filling our packs with nature’s candy and the well wishes of Mamallapuram locals.
You and your tastebuds won’t want to miss this. Come with us this March on our South Indian Spiritual Adventure.
Our next stop on this virtual tour will be a look at the marvelous hotel in which we will stay. How do you feel about having the best sleep of your life on the shore of the Bay of Bengal?
