Day 3 Mardi Himal Trek – Annapurna Range, Himalayas
April 11, 2014 • Spiritual Adventures
Photos from Day 3 of our trek in the mountains in our recent spiritual adventure in the Himalayas of Nepal. I had woken up a little early and with the help of a sherpa climbed up to Rest Camp again (part of the way in the dark) to take a few photos of the sunrise. It was tough crawling out of your tent then climbing up a mountain. After 3 minutes I recall thinking to myself that I am just crazy…and wanted to turn back. But I kept going and captured the below photo as the sun rose over the Annapurna range.
After my little morning photo adventure I headed back down the mountain and joined the rest of the group for breakfast. We were done by 8am and the crew had already dismantled most of our camp site. They are super efficient. It wasn’t long before we were heading down the mountain. We took a different path which was much steeper but quicker to get down. The porters started after us but soon caught up and sped past us carrying all the equipment on them. These men are super fit to say the least.
After about six hours we finally reached the bottom and our crew had already been working on getting lunch ready. It was quite tiring and it had gotten really hot as well. Nothing a delicious lunch could not fix.
What a special 3-days it was up in the mountains.
