How to Prepare to Die
From the Hindu perspective you prepare to die by resolving the emotional experiences you are still carrying so you do not take that baggage into the next life, and by planning for your next birth.
Asked how to prepare to die, Dandapani gives two suggestions from the Hindu perspective. The first is to resolve as many unresolved emotional experiences as possible so you travel lighter into the next life. The second is to plan your next birth.
What this talk covers
- The first suggestion is to resolve as many of your unresolved emotional experiences as you can before passing away.
- If you had an argument with a relative 20 years ago that you are still carrying, it is probably time you sat down with them and resolved it.
- If that person is no longer around, resolve it within yourself so you are no longer carrying the emotional baggage.
- Hinduism believes in reincarnation, so the aim as you proceed to the next life is to go a little lighter.
- The second suggestion is to plan your next birth: where you want to be born, who your parents are, what kind of life you want to lead and what you hope to accomplish.
