Simplify Then Simplify Again
He changed his mind about how simple his life needed to be: he thought he had simplified it enough, and now sees he has to reduce further still, fewer people, a narrower business, and more clarity.
Asked what he has changed his mind about in the past year, Dandapani says he needs to simplify his life even more than he already has, and to spend more time evaluating whether he is happy doing what he is doing. He talks about pushing himself harder than he wants to in order to fund the retreat he is building in Costa Rica, and about how working on his own clarity has drawn a certain kind of person to him.

What have you changed your mind about in the last year? I would say that I need to simplify my life even more. I thought I had simplified my life quite a bit. But in the last year, I realized it's not simple enough,
which means reduce even more the number of people in my life, reduce even more my business, become more narrow and focused in my business, in my personal life, in my family life, and gain clarity.
One thing, and the second thing, if I may add a second thing, is to also be clear, am I happy doing what I'm doing? And it's very important for me to spend more time evaluating that. Yeah, because you're a cleaner, you have this goal of financing this retreat in Costa Rica.
And so that's, you obviously feel very passionate about that retreat. But so then it means that sometimes you're probably doing some things that you still want to do, but maybe you're like, I want to do this because it's a means to my end. And so you have to be very careful about those.
You've been reading my diary? You're right, because it comes down to that sometimes. I'm very passionate about it. I want to create a life in Costa Rica where I can go back to doing what I truly love doing
and also help people. And sometimes I end up pushing myself a little bit more than I wanted because I need to get the wealth, the money that I need to create this thing. Yeah.
Plus you go around and you speak with groups and these entrepreneurs and these high power business people, you know, not always the best energy. A lot of times they start off with these goals in mind that maybe aren't even clearly thought out.
And you know, like, I want an IPO, I wanna be a billionaire, that's what everybody wants to be. But they don't even know why. And so you're dealing with this,
probably a lot of this really weird misplaced energy. And that's gotta be absorbed by you to a certain extent. I would say fortunately for myself, I've really worked hard on becoming very clear
of what I want. And I think I worked hard also in programming my subconscious that I can honestly say to you, Ryan, that the people I work with are super uplifting
people. That people I enjoy being. And I'm sure there are entrepreneurs out there that are the way you describe them, but touch with the ones that I work with and spend time with are people I truly love spending
time with. They're really good people. And I think also they wouldn't be seeking me out if they were just purely money driven. I think a lot of them are also looking for a greater purpose in life, a greater understanding
of themselves to be able to come and pick someone with stripes on his head and have them come talk to their company. Yeah. Energy attracts energy.
We were talking about that with the guests I have on the show. Yeah, you're right. My energy attracts the energy that's more similar to me. Right.
And I met people who look at me and go like, nope, don't want anything to do with him, with his priest. Who is he? And then other people go like, come speak to my company.
Come speak to my bank. And now this is going up. I think me doing what I need to do for myself has created a certain attraction of a certain type of people into my life, which I'm very grateful for.
