Good timing is a sign that your awareness is in the superconscious area of the mind, because when you are there you act on the intuition telling you to leave now instead of sending one more email.

Dandapani describes the superconscious as layered rather than binary, and names its first two signs: becoming more observant, and having good timing. He used the New York subway as his own gauge for eleven years, and says that going deeper brings you to the recognition that you are pure energy. He closes on what he sees in the most successful people he has worked with: clarity about what they want and an unparalleled desire for it.

What this talk covers

  • Entering the superconscious is not binary but layered, like moving closer to the sun and feeling more of its heat.
  • The first sign that the superconscious is awakening is observation, when a person becomes more observant.
  • The second sign is good timing, which he measured for eleven years in New York by how long he waited for the subway; more than fifteen seconds and he had not been in the superconscious, usually because he had ignored the intuition to leave and sent one more email.
  • Deeper in, you experience yourself as a soul that is pure energy, which cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed, and that brings a great sense of love, compassion and peace, though it is not a one-time experience; you go there daily until it permeates your being.
  • The most successful people he has worked with share two things: crystal clear knowledge of what they want, and a desire for it so intense they will give up everything to get it.
You have to want it more than life itself.

Questions

  • Two early signs. You become more observant, and your timing gets good. He tested it in New York by how long he waited on the subway platform, taking a wait longer than fifteen seconds as a sign he had not been listening to intuition.

  • Because they obey the intuition when it comes. He would be working at home and get the sense to leave now for a meeting, and if he answered one more email instead he was out of sync for the rest of the trip.

  • Clarity and desire. He worked with one of the top soccer players in the world for three seasons and found him crystal clear about what he wanted and unparalleled in his desire for it, the same combination he saw in monks. Most people neither know what they want nor want it enough, so they try and give up.

What does it feel like when you go there? Is that when you get lost in something that you're doing, that you love? How would somebody know if they've done that?

It's not a binary experience. I will look at it as layers. I can go out and feel the sun's rays on me. But if I went 1,000 miles closer towards the sun,

I probably maybe feel a little warmer. I'm assuming I don't know anything about this. Or if I go 10,000 more miles, I feel more of the sun. The superconscious is that way as well.

It's layered. If you enter the fringes of the superconscious area of the mind, the fringes of the third floor, you feel a sense of the first sign of the awakening of that superconscious is observation.

People become more observant. When someone becomes more observant, you know they're starting to go into the superconscious area of the mind. That's the first sign of the awakening of the superconscious.

Another sign is good timing. I knew when I lived in New York for 11 years, I could tell if my awareness was in the third floor or not, by how long I waited for the subway. My wife would say to me, you have good timing and she always get the subway

with me because if I walked up the stairs, got on the platform, if I wait a longer than 15 seconds, I was not in the supercontest area of the mind. And I would be at home in my apartment working in my intuition to say, leave now to get ready for your meeting.

And I'll say one more email, then I'm out of sync. But if I was obedient to that, I would have good timing. So those are two things, observation, good timing. And as you go deeper and deeper, Cody,

you experience the very essence of who you are, which is a soul that is pure energy, and energy cannot be created or destroyed, has always existed.

You start to tap into a part of you that you realize, okay, I am energy, everything is made up of energy. Energy can never be created, which means I've always existed.

Energy can be transformed from one thing to another, law of thermodynamics. I am transforming, evolving, but in essence, I'm pure energy. And as you start to go into that, you feel a great sense of love and compassion and peace.

But it's not a one-time experience. Can you have one success in business and say you're a successful entrepreneur? No, you have to do it over and over again. So the key is to repeatedly have awareness go into the superconscious mind every day

till that permeates your entire being and that becomes your default of who you are. Same way you would see a seasoned entrepreneur who's gone through all the highs and lows and he or she at that point knows how to ride this out. You know, they can handle difficult times because they know what to do.

You know, it's 30 years, 40 years of this and the mistake is no different as well. He or she has gone into the super-conscious so much that it's become a part of their being now. Do you notice a difference about people who are very worldly successful? Do they carry themselves differently?

Have they done this practice a different way? Is there anything that you've noticed from some of the most influential people you've ever worked with, spoken with? I would say two things.

They have a lot of clarity of what they want and a tremendous amount of desire to get it. I had the good fortune of working with one of the top soccer players in the world for three years, for three seasons, and he

knew crystal clear in his mind what he wanted to achieve. And the desire he had for it was unparalleled. I'd seen monks with it, you know, and he really, really wanted it. So the combination of knowing what you want and having that intense desire for it helps you to get there. So most people don't really know what they want and then don't really have a desire for it. They try and

then they give up. You have to want it more than life itself. You know, when I met my guru before I joined the monastery. I told him what I wanted in life, which was enlightenment. And he asked me, what are you willing to do for it? And I was in college then. I said, I'm willing to give up my life. And I joined this monastery in my early 20s. And I didn't speak to my family again,

my friends at three meals a day and didn't talk to relatives and do all the things that everybody in the world does. Because I was willing to give up everything in my life to pursue this. And that's what I see in some of the most successful entrepreneurs and athletes. They want that and they're willing to do whatever it takes to get it.
