Building Companies from the Inside Out

Building Companies from the Inside Out

On Monday I did a half day workshop with a company called Tim Davies Landscaping where I covered topics such as understanding the mind and how to develop concentration, willpower, balance and other vital self-empowering tools.

Tim Davies Landscaping (TDL) is a leading and award- winning landscape architecture practice that specialises in the design, construction and maintenance of quality residential, commercial, civic and remote landscapes. Tim is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization or YPO. I've known Tim for about 13 years and he's quite keen to create a culture for the company that is comprised of individuals with strong personal development tools; individuals who can then use these tools to help themselves in their personal and family lives and apply them to the work place as well.

I spoke to the entire company in the morning for about 3 hours. About 70 employees, all of whom were eager to learn. Then after lunch I met with Tim and his senior team, about 12 individuals, and brainstormed on how to bring what was covered in the morning into the company culture. We looked at creating a system of groups within the company where the individual can help the group and the group can help the individual. These sub groups would also help to create a system of accountability for the whole company team.

It was a wonderful inspiring day, and I am grateful to have been to able to work with a head of a company and a team of hardworking individuals who are ready and willing to grow and improve their business from the inside out.
