Enchanting village in the Himalayan mountains
October 20, 2010 • Spiritual Adventures
Day 3 of our spiritual adventure in Nepal and today we left Kathmandu and headed west. After a couple of hours of driving I requested the driver to pull over so that we could cross a hanging bridge. The bridge spanned the Thrisuli river and the group bravely made their way across and enjoyed the spoils of soaking their feet in cool Himalayan waters.
The total journey took about 4.5 hours, to drive to a gorgeous untouched village called Bandipur. Still embodied with ancient Newari architecture this quaint village sits atop a mountain. An 8km winding drive up a one lane road that took over 30mins to drive brought us here. The views from Bandipur are truly spectacular. Our bus was unable to make the final drive to the resort so we ended up hiring a jeep to transport our luggage to the resort and most of us hiked the balance of the journey.
We have a wonderful group of spiritual adventurers who are easy going, keen about developing their spiritual lives and ready for spontaneous adventures.
