Most people unknowingly give people and things around them permission to move their awareness from one area of the mind to another all day every day. The same way you give a director of a movie permission to move your awareness all around the mind while watching the movie. For most people, the people and the things in their lives become the director of their daily experiences. People and things dictate where their awareness goes, causing them to have a myriad of experiences throughout the day. Awareness is taken to so many areas of the mind – some uplifting and some not. Essentially, when this is allowed to happen, people end up becoming slaves to everyone and everything around them.
