Oh so that's where Krishna dropped his butterball...
Krishna-Butterball-Mamallapuram

Your eyes do not deceive you — there are children taking shade in the shadow of a massive boulder that seems to be precariously perched on the side of a steep hill. Krishna’s Butterball, a popular destination spot for tourists and locals alike in Mamallapuram, South India, is one of those “gotta see it to believe it” spectacles. You can try as hard as you’d like to push the rock down the hill, but whatever superglue Krishna used has the boulder, which measures about 5 meters in diameter, defying gravity.

Come see it for yourself on our March 2014 South Indian Spiritual Adventure. Maybe you’ll be the one to send the butterball tumbling. Just beware the wrath of Krishna if you do…Just kidding! It is a very peaceful culture. After all, one of the core beliefs of Hinduism is ahimsa, non-violence in thought, word and deed. So, you don't have to fear Krishna even if you manage to push his boulder over. He's a loving God who would probably be very impressed by your physical prowess.
Swing back around for the next post in our series as we continue to uncover the treasures of Mamallapuram. Next on the list is another stunning spectacle: Arjuna's Penance.
