Heading back to the Himalayan mountains
It’s our third morning in the jungle and we began the day with a 6:15am jungle walk. The group saw deer, a crocodile and a variety of birds. After breakfast we checked out of this lodge we now love so much and began the departure process. A jeep ride to the river then crossing it by canoe. Then another jeep ride before finally reaching our bus which was parked on the highway.
Our next stop is Dhulikhel about 150 miles or so away. We stop for lunch in Kathmandu at a beautiful garden restaurant located in the heart of this bustling city. The roads in Nepal aren’t the best in some places and therefore it takes a little longer to get from place to place. But Nepal certainly makes up for poorer roads in scenenary and in people.
After lunch we continue our journey heading west of Kathmandu and finally reaching the mountain town of Dhulikhel. The mountain resort here is quaint with spectacular views of the Himalayas. All are happy to be off the bus, stretch their legs and enjoy the mountain air.
