What is the goal and purpose of meditation?

Last week I started a YouTube channel and my goal is to have a weekly video themed Conversations on the Spiritual Path. In summary it’s a Q&A with me.

Conversations on the Spiritual Path is an unscripted, raw, open and honest conversations about life and the spiritual path with me. It’s a setting for us to engage in a question and answer session as we dive into a range of topics including God, spiritual practices, exploring the mind, sustaining energy, life, death, after-life, reincarnation, karma, the path to enlightenment, fear, courage, how to uplift yourself when you are feeling down, discouragement, stress, abuse, parenting, relationships and so many other thought provoking topics.

This is how it works. You email a question(s) and I respond to it on video. In our very first episode of Conversations on the Spiritual Path, viewers from the Caribbean and St. Louis ask about the creation of God and the purpose and goals of meditation. You can watch the first episode of this video series below.

You can also subscribe to the weekly videos by clicking subscribe me.

Questions that were asked in this episode:
How were the Gods created?

• Why was the Universe created?

• What was the first thing to be created?

• Why did God make anything in the first place when he doesn’t need us?

• What is the purpose/goal of meditation? @4:56

• What method/practices do you recommend to get to that goal? @6:36

If you’d like to send in questions, please email your questions to admin@dandapani.org with the following
Question(s):
First name:
City:
Country:

I’ll read the above out on my video and then answer your question. If you don’t want to use your first name you can use a screen name or an alias. Thank you for your support. I appreciate it and I hope you enjoyed watching the video.

Everybody and their dog has an opinion on meditation (including me). Most of these folks don’t meditate or have never been formally trained or even more so seriously committed to one meditation path. The latter truly is a telltale sign of how seriously one takes his or her meditation practice. Wh...

I’m starting the year by writing a 3-part series on meditation with the goal of bringing some clarity around it and dispelling a few myths. First things, first. Let’s get clear on terminology. This is important because we want to train our subconscious to understand the specific meaning of a word...

Old Soul, Young Soul

If I can accept myself for where I am in my evolution, then I can accept others for where they are in their evolution. As a Hindu and from personal experiences, I believe and subscribe to the concept of reincarnation. Simply said, reincarnation describes a belief that we are a soul living in a ph...

The Things We Tell Ourselves

Well, it has been a really long time since I’ve sent one of these emails out. Apologies for my hiatus. October and November were filled with events I spoke at in the US, across Europe and in India. My travels culminated with a retreat that I held in South India where I led a group…
