Hindu View of Reincarnation
June 6, 2017 • Conversations on the Spiritual Path, Learn
In the Hindu belief, a soul lives in the physical body and when the physical body dies, the soul continues functioning in the astral plane before reincarnating. When a soul reincarnates, it goes through another physical life and keeps evolving, and another life and keeps evolving, and so on until it achieves moksha. But, the soul is not done yet. Moksha doesn’t mean end — it’s only liberation from rebirth (that’s the Sanskrit term for it). A soul continues to evolve in the astral world once achieving moksha, and it keep evolving through other worlds until Visvagrasa, total merger with God, is attained.
