Memory and Awareness
January 26, 2018 • Awareness & the Mind, Learn
A few days ago one of the students of my 12-week online course “Introduction to Meditation” asked the following question on our online forum. “How are memories and awareness related?”
Here’s my response to him which I wanted to share with you as well.
Memories are experiences that have emotion attached to them. These memories reside in the subconscious mind. Because they have emotions (and emotion is energy) they are very magnetic. Being magnetic of nature they can easily pull awareness to it. The more intense the emotion in the memory the easier for awareness to get pulled to it.
