Classes and Excursions in Darjeeling
October 30, 2010 • Spiritual Adventures
We are certainly well settled in Darjeeling now and in the comforts of our beautiful hotel. We are spending more time each day in classes and less in excursions. Our main excursion for today was to head out to Tiger Hill to watch the sun rise over the Himalayas. We joined hundreds of local tourists for yet another special sunrise. It was a clear morning and we were blessed to be able to see Mount Everest in the distant. On the way back we stopped at a Tibetan monastery just in time for their morning ceremonies.
Today we are wrapping up our study of meditation. Each member of the group has been assigned a topic we’ve covered over this spiritual adventure and in tomorrow’s class I am the student and they have to teach me everything they know about that topic.
After our morning class today part of the group headed to a sari shop in town to purchase some saris plus visit a tailor to get the appropriate blouses stitched for the saris they purchased. Others visited the Himalayan zoo and the Himalayan Mountain Institute.
