The little known Weavers Village

On the way to Periyar from Madurai we made a stop at a little know sari weaving village. Unfortunately I don’t recall the name. The homes of the weavers were located off the main road. We got off the bus and made our way in to the village and were welcomed by many smiling faces. It is so nice to be always greeted with smiles. We spent an hour walking around the village, watching the weavers weave beautiful saris and interacting with the locals. Another fun and memorable moment on our spiritual adventure.

Some of us bought fabrics….you could not get any closer to the source than this. Here a weaver is cutting out a piece for one of our travelers. Some of us bought fabrics….you could not get any closer to the source than this. Here a weaver is cutting out a piece for one of our travelers.
