Have you set up a Traffic Light?

Set up a traffic light between your mind and your mouth—learning when to speak freely, when to pause, and when to hold your tongue.

A figure pauses thoughtfully on a bright open road at dawn, warm green light glowing ahead in the distance.

Set up a traffic light between your Mind and your Mouth. It’ll make a big difference in your life.

Cultivate the discrimination of when to speak freely, when to reflect before you speak and when to simply hold your tongue.

The red, amber and green lights can be useful if established on the highway that connects your mind and your mouth.

How do you know you’re making progress with this? When what you say results in more uplifting outcomes than complicated emotional outcomes then that is when you know you are making progress.

Don’t feel the need to respond to everything. As you learn to control where awareness goes in your mind you learn to control your reactions and this includes what you say.
