Germany’s gorgeous wine country
Well I’ve absolutely enjoyed my two days in a small town called Eltville about 40 minutes outside of Frankfurt, Germany. Located along the Rhine river with rolling hills draped in vineyards and centuries old castles, churches and homes this place was simply beautiful. And my new BFF, 12 year old Katrina (photo below), daughter of my hosts, took me on a lovely stroll up and down hills through the vineyards. What a fun afternoon of eating fresh grapes off the vines and walnuts. I’ve never eaten fresh walnuts before and Katrina showed me how to find them, crack them open and enjoy yummy walnuts.
I also learnt quite a few fun games that involved grapes which resulted in hands and face being covered in sticky grape juice. Thanks for an amazingly joyous afternoon Katrina!
